Interesting museums in the villages of Paphos


In several villages in the area of Pafos you can discover small but interesting museums all related with the rural life.

So in Drouseia , one of the most charming villages of Cyprus , you'll find the weaving museum with examples of old and modern weaving and knitwear. Another weaving museum exists also in Fyti, a village with long tradition and special style of weaving, known as Fythkiotika.Here you can also observe how this textiles are made .

In Ineia, a village with spectacular views over the Akamas peninsula , the local museum houses a collection of basketry.

In Steni village you'll find a bright new folk art museum with tools , furniture and information about the life in older times in the villages of this area.

In Peristerona something different:a byzantine museum with a large collection of icons dating from the 13th to the 19th century , as well as many ecclesiatic items , rare books and manuscripts.
